Dear Reader:
I usually don't personally sanction donation requests. But this one is important. Signature checks can be subjective and can deny challenged voters their franchise. In these tight races, the Democrats are working to address these issues. After Whatcom County (and other) dismal results, I know you (like me) are a tired, depressed (or angry) Democrat or Democrat supporter. But please consider Karen Deal's pitch for funding below the break. Here's a chance to follow through on post election efforts to keep the WA state house Democratic and support the integrity of the vote!!
Thanks,
RMF

Dear Ryan,
The 2014 election isn't over yet.
Three days out from Election Day, a handful of races around the state are still too close to call, separated by razor thin margins. Some have a difference as narrow as a couple hundred votes.
Election staff is working around the clock to count ballots and address problems, like out-of-date signatures.
While these problems are rare, some races are so close that we need to make sure that every ballot goes through the full counting process.
That's why we need your help today. Our Vote Protection effort will ensure that a missed or sloppy signature isn't the reason why someone's vote isn't counted.
Here are some races at stake:
- A margin of 242 votes separates Democratic Rep. Larry Seaquist in his race with Michelle Caldier in the 26th District.
- In the 28th District, Democrat Christine Kilduff is leading over Paul Wagemann by 240 votes.
- 157 votes separate Democratic Rep. Kathy Haigh from Dan Griffey in the 35th District.
These Democrats are strong leaders and need your support today.
Thank you for joining us as we fight for our candidates — and thank you for your continued support this year.
Karen
